“Men’s fashion is for me a question of method. A means for meeting up with tradition and quality, for exploring a broad, general and in a certain sense absolute concept of dressing. In no way entailing a search for fashion as a pure idea.
Thus every collection features orthodox themes, universal colors, an emblematic attitude and way of living… all as new words for making up a recognizable language, an ever consistent style.”

(notes from a conversation with Gianfranco Ferré on July 2, 1990)

A contemplative mood, memories of summers spent between the sea and the region of Provence, a cultured pastoral mode of life. Relaxed clothes favoring the need for a spontaneous, immediate way of being.

Superlight fabrics, perforated and airy. Stretch tulles for safari jackets with self-expanding carry-all pockets. Raw linens and oilcloths with natural creased effects. Cotton/silk oxfordcloths for both fil-à-fil jackets and shirts. Toile de Jouy, in a print against a fil-ò-fil background.

Allusions to sports - baseball. cycling, tennis, running - popular today for the pure pleasure of physical movement.

Eternal colors: white, morning-haze grey, Mediterranean azures and blues.
